Will be “killed” six standard online games, including hearts, backgammon and chess
31 July 2019, these games will no longer work on Windows ME and Windows XP
Microsoft has officially announced the closure of the project to support classic online games included in a standard set along with the outdated Windows XP, Windows ME, and Windows 7.

“Players Microsoft Internet Games, we with a heavy heart made the difficult decision that the following games will no longer be supported,” said Microsoft in an official company blog.
Will be closed six standard online games, including hearts, backgammon and chess. 31 July 2019, these games will no longer work on Windows ME and Windows XP, on the same day these services will stop the work. In Windows 7 they will stay until January 22, 2020, a week after the end-of-support operating system itself.

The attached full list of games that went “under the knife”:
- Internet Backgammon (XP/ME, 7);
- Internet Checkers (XP/ME, 7);
- Internet Spades (XP/ME, 7);
- Internet Hearts (XP/ME);
- Internet Reversi (XP/ME);
- MSN Go (7).

Earlier, players found a way to get the game for free on Steam. And last week was found evidence that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on the computer.
