The vote on the immigration law in Parliament still has the effect of a ridge swallowed across the throat for many associations. The Aveyron entities, which initially took up the pen to denounce the passage of this law, are organizing a rally on Sunday. The date is common throughout France for a general mobilization against the vote of this law, at the call of 201 personalities, ranging from Dominique Sopo, president of SOS Racisme, to the actress Julie Gayet or to former majority deputy Cédric Villani.

Present on the Millau market Friday

This Friday morning, Millau market regulars were used to finding the Blinds and Windows stand of Guy Brahic, representative of Eric Zemmour in South Aveyron during the last legislative elections, at the corner of Place des Halles and rue Clausel-de-Coussergues. This January 19, the ideas advocated on this same square were the opposite of those of the extreme right promoted by the Millavois trader. The Human Rights League (LDH), the Migrant Collective, La France insoumise and the doctors' union were present to tow and invite passers-by to join them on Sunday, for the march against the immigration law (10:30 a.m. ). "This law is really very worrying, presents Odile Frénéhard, local representative of the LDH who coordinates, among other things, the Sunday gathering. Doctors from Millau in charge of welcoming undocumented immigrants are very worried about the outcome that will be given."

"We have been mobilized for months and months, while suffering when it was voted on in unclear democratic conditions, she denounces We were very surprised and shocked, at the government level and locally by our MP, who quietly said they were voting for texts that do not fit into the Constitution. We don't understand how this is possible."

"Their life is going to become catastrophic"

At his side, Agnès Cayrel of the Migrant Collective of Millau thinks no less: "We are making people aware of the consequences that this will have law, even on people who are there with papers. They already have a very complicated life and it will become catastrophic with this law."

"The government has capitulated to the right and the far right"

Nationally, the Human Rights League "requests the non-promulgation of this law" , adds Odile Frénéhard. "If it is promulgated, all foreign people living in our country will see their rights weakened, whatever their status and a large number of them will be precarious, < /em>supports the League, in a press release. The government capitulated to the right but also to the extreme right, many of whose proposals were taken up in defiance of international conventions, the European Convention on Human Rights and even European treaties." Sunday, the gathering is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Place de la Capelle, for a "march for freedom, equality and fraternity.
