La deuxième journée de la manche française de Coupe du monde de wingfoil a vu Nia Suardiaz et Christopher Macdonald s’imposer en freestyle. Ce jeudi, les vainqueurs du slalom seront connus ce jeudi.
This Wednesday, the riders had their work cut out for them. They took advantage of superb wind conditions with more than 40 knots on Coussoules beach in Leucate-La Franqui to complete events such as the first laps of the Wingfoil World Cup slalom.
They were dominated on one side by the world champion, the Spaniard Nia Suardiaz in front of the French Orane Ceris and Kylie Belloeuvre, and on the other by the Spaniard Nia Suardiaz. Audois Bastien Escofet and Montpellier Titouan Galea.
Three French people in the final
After a well-deserved break at midday, the riders had to decide between themselves in the freestyle event. The French Enoha Laurent and Kylie Belloeuvre were eliminated at the semi-final stage. The victory went to the essential Nia Suardiaz. Her compatriot Mar De Arce and Italian Sofia Marchetti completed the podium.
To find French riders in the final, we had to look to the men's side. There were three of them – Axel Gérard, Mal Guénolé and Noé Cuyala – against the world title holder, the American Christopher Macdonald. Despite great French resistance, it was the world champion who held his place and won in Aude.
