MONTREAL – No less than seven vehicles of the police Department of the City of Montreal (SPVM) have been torched in the night of Saturday to Sunday in the borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal, Montreal.
The fire was reported around midnight in the parking lot of the d’iberville street, near the boulevard Saint-Joseph, said Caroline Chèvrefils of the SPVM.
The fire was quickly mastered by the fire department of the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SIM), but the damage is still significant, since seven vehicles are a total loss, while three other vehicles suffered comparatively minor damage.
On the other hand, the property has not suffered any damage, said the officer Chèvrefils.
No suspect has been identified or arrested in respect of this event of suspect origin.
The investigation has been transferred to the section of the arson of the Montreal police.
The investigators will travel Sunday morning to the scene to analyze the scene protected and try to understand the circumstances of the fire.
