Moov, this new commercial space dedicated to sport which is emerging just a stone's throw from Montpellier

Two hectares dedicated to sport in Lattes. With two locomotives that already welcome customers: Sport 2000 and Mondovélo. As well as 3,600 square meters of offices that will be rented to Septeo.

Two hectares dedicated to sport: Sport 2000, Mondovélo, Was ready-to-wear rather high-end, an independent board sports shop… and gourmet halls on 400 m2 including terrace. In Lattes, the area between Cabesto and Septeo is getting stronger. The concept: Moov, a shopping center focused on sport.

The idea came from the mind of Thomas Boixel, son of Jean-Luc Boixel, one of the co-founders of Septeo. His E-Commerce business is a hit. He sells BMW motorcycle accessories online. “The goal was to develop my business, he explains. I needed 2000 m² of storage space. We found these 2 ha on the site of this former Schneider Electric factory. But with the price of land in Lattes, two hectares is very expensive…"

Storing its motorcycle accessories alone is not enough for the business model. Thomas Boixel then agrees with the town hall to install a major bicycle brand. “We set up Mondovélo on 1200 m². It is the largest Mondovélo in France in terms of surface area and the largest bicycle store in the region."

The 4,000 m2 of buildings of the former Schneider factory are reused. To which is added an extension of 6,000 m2 so that the two hectares of land are profitable. It was still necessary to find another locomotive. For consistency, the idea of ​​remaining in the world of sport is essential. By opportunity and by relationship (via Philippe Rivière, also co-founder of Septeo), the name Sport 2000 stands out all the more easily since the brand is part of the same group as Mondovélo.

Ode to the sea and the stadium which fall into the water, the Solis and the Fenouillet “which do not evolve”

For Matthieu Peron, boss of Sport 2000 in Lattes, next to the CGR is an unmissable opportunity. “For five or seven years we wanted to leave our old location, we wanted to evolve like many stores in the area. Ode à la mer fell through, the future stadium too. The Solis, the Fenouillet… have not evolved. We had been there since 1999, we had this opportunity, we took advantage of it.”

An opportunity but also a bet for Sport 2000

An opportunity according to the latest standards of the brand, modernized and digitalized, for Matthieu Peron but alsoi "a bet". "We are moving away from an existing commercial area. When we arrive here, we come to isolate ourselves a little. Cabesto is historic but we are in an area that did not exist and we must give people the habit of coming."The habit of coming, but also the habit of staying. By creating a place to live, to eat. Hence, from January 1, 2025, a new address of gourmet halls on 400 m2. 200 m2 of terrace and 200 m2 of interior surface for five lots. There you will find an Italian, a sushi, a bar, a rotisserie and Mamaona, already established at the Marché du Lez.

Finally, on the floors of the extension, there will be space for offices, covering 3,600 m2, which will be entirely occupied by Septeo, a neighbour. Not forgetting the park, a small sports area for children and adults, as well as a “pump track”, a track to try out your bike. “We are the only bike shop to have benefited from our test track”, appreciates Thomas Boixel.

Des halles gourmandes au 1er January

Sport 2000 and Mondovélo open, the halls on January 1st, the board sports shop on March 1st 2025… The site is taking shape. It's called Moov (move in English). Between Cabesto and Septeo, we tell you, rue du Mas-de-la-Fiole. The entrance is via avenue de Figuieres.

And in place of the old Sport 2000, next to the CGR ?

The opening is scheduled for October 16, but the “Fêter et recevoir” sign is already in place right next to the CGR multiplex, in Lattes. That is 1000 m2 in place of the old Sport 2000 store, which moved to the Cabesto side.
