Motorcycle: end curtain at the Pôle mécanique d’Alès with the WERC formula
|Un parfum d’endurance pour deux des sept catégories au programme dont les 1000cc. Midi Libre
La formule des WERC bouclera sa saison ce week-end sur le circuit cévenol. Sept catégories seront au départ.
The last round of the season for the WERC (Weekend Racing Cup) formula takes place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October on the Alès track. Seven categories are on the menu including the 1000cc category where Geoffroy Branche (Yamaha) will try to preserve his second place. The Pôle Mécanique rider is twenty points behind Frédéric Besson (Suzuki) and is followed, two points behind, by Simon Potillion (Ducati).
In 600cc, Paul Geneve (Honda) has taken an option on the title, at the expense of Enzo Dahmani (Yamaha). In the Roadster Cup, the Triumphs of Pascal Picaux and Florent Ducastel dominate. Julien Mathon (KTM), Pascal Chaumont (Triumph), Sonia Naviaux (KTM) and Thomas Le Roy (KTM) are fiercely competing for third place.
Title still possible for Randy Huron
On Sunday, Randy Huron and his opponents will therefore end their season. What can the Languedoc native do in the Monos challenge where Nicolas Bonduelle holds the upper hand ? The leader has collected 171 points, Huron has 143. With two rounds to go and 50 points distributed to the winners, the title is still possible.
But even if Randy Huron wins twice (two wins in eight races this season), it is Bonduelle's performance that will be decisive. At the very least, Huron should secure his runner-up spot for this final season in Mono. Other projects are taking shape for him in 2025.
The tests take place on Friday October 4, the qualifications and the first races (1000cc) on Saturday October 5, from 3:45 p.m. Sunday October 6, thirteen finals on the program, including two one-hour endurance races. I subscribe to read the rest
