On the sidelines of the Montpellier International Indoor Trial, Fabrègues rider Margaux Pena and Electric Motion will present the 2024 version of the electric trial motorcycle.

Margaux Pena is a precocious talent. A gifted trial rider first on a bike and then a motorcycle since 2020. Almost 18 years old – the high school student will celebrate her majority on January 21 – the native of Montpellier and resident of Fabrègues already has a well-rounded track record with a place vice-champion of France motorcycle trials in 2022.

In the Pena family, they have all tried their hand at the discipline thanks to Eric, the father, president of the Trial Club Fabrègues for 30 years. And among his four children – two eldest sons then the twins Margaux and Elliot – it was his daughter who caught the virus. And not just a little.

Margaux Pena: "Becoming world champion"

Member of the French team, the young Hérault resident is ambitious: "My dream is to become world champion in a few years", blurts out -she has stars in her eyes.

In 2023, Margaux Pena suffered a first setback in her meteoric progress: a rupture of the cruciate ligaments in her knee. But since she had decided to come back stronger, she did so by continuing the work already started in physical preparation in addition to mental preparation. "I resumed training at the end of the year and we notice that I have progressed in terms of mobility, core strength, explosiveness… she rejoices. I was afraid of not getting back to my level but it's quite the opposite."

The first electric pilot

Before her injury, Margaux Pena discovered the international scene. She even became the first female athlete to ride an electric motorcycle: "My first motorcycle was a thermal one received at Christmas in 2020. But six months later, the Electric Motion brand (dealer based in Saint-Brès and specialized in electric motorcycles, Editor's note) made me try one of their electric motorcycles."

Like Gaël Chatagno, another French driver, she is now the official driver of the French brand. It is in this costume that Margaux Pena will be present, this Friday at the Sud de France Arena, to attend the presentation of the 2024 version of her motorcycle on the Electric Motion stand. Not to participate in the Montpellier International Indoor Trial, reserved only for male pilots.

Hoping that with Margaux's generation, the Montpellier public will soon be able to applaud female athletes during this type of event.

The Montpellier international indoor trial, this Friday

This Friday, the Sud de France Arena welcomes a new edition of the Montpellier International Indoor Trial. The show in the form of an exhibition event will bring together the best drivers in the world in unique settings. With the presence of Toni Bou, the Spaniard with more than 30 world titles who revolutionized the world of football. the discipline, or even his compatriot world number 2 Jaime Busto. The French will also be represented with national champion Benoit Bincaz and Gaëeuml;l Chatagno who rides an electric motorcycle. Opening of doors à 6:30 p.m. and start of the evening at 8 p.m.
