Chaque année le 1er février, les tarifs des péages sont revus. En 2024, ils ont été augmenté d'environ 3 %.
In 2024, toll prices in France increased again, with an average increase of around 3%, applied on February 1, recalls La Dépêche. This increase, slightly lower than inflation, is calculated on the basis of inflation for the previous October, in accordance with a 1995 decree stipulating that it must represent at least 70% of inflation, excluding tobacco prices.
The increases vary depending on the concessionaire: +2.7% for Vinci Autoroutes, +2.79% for Sanef, and +3.02% for APRR. The passage fare on the Millau viaduct has particularly increased, reaching +5.56% for the summer and +5.83% the rest of the year.
A new tax
In 2025, a new tax on long-distance transport infrastructure, introduced by the State in its 2024 budget, could lead to a significant increase in fares. This tax targets motorway concessionaires and large airports, with the aim of generating 600 million euros in additional revenue.
Vinci Autoroutes has already announced that this new tax will inevitably have an impact on toll prices. "An increase in taxes is inevitably an increase in toll rates", Pierre Coppey declared last September , president of Vinci Autoroutes.
The final decision in a few months
For his part, Clément Beaune, Minister Delegate in charge of Transport, affirmed that motorists would not pay more because of this tax, recalling that toll prices are set by long-term contracts and validated by the State. It is in fact up to the State to validate the pricing proposals made by the concessionaires, in compliance with the set framework. The final decision on the new prices will be known in a few months.
