This Friday, April 19, the MATIAS G & C in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon has closed for "serious breaches of hygiene rules". Although very renowned, the business will have to ensure that its premises are brought up to standard in order to consider reopening.

The check took place in the morning, the same evening the butchery was closed. This Friday, April 19, the very famous Boucherie MATIAS G & C, "House G & C", in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, had to close due to lack of hygiene.

Several criticisms were made by the Departmental Directorate for Population Protection (DDPP), according to Actu Lyon, representing "serious breaches of hygiene rules". Among other things, the "presence of mouse droppings", the "non-compliance with storage temperatures regulatory " and "the possession of expired foods" were noted.

The owner wishes to reopen "as quickly as possible"

Also according to our colleagues, the owner declares that he is preparing his reopening "as quickly as possible", while work is being carried out already underway in the butchery.

The latter also left a note on his front: "Despite our daily and permanent fight against the rodents which have invaded the city for a long time, continued following an inspection, the result is a lack of maintenance of our premises despite all our efforts. Other failures are alleged against us which cannot in any way affect the quality of our products. However, an upgrade of our premises is necessary and we hope to see you again very soon."

Wave of closures in Lyon

The case of this business is not isolated and occurs a few days after the closure of the Paul bakery located in Part-Dieu. The latter brought down the curtain for similar reasons, namely the presence of mouse droppings and other "serious breaches of hygiene rules&quot ;.

According to Actu Lyon, the DDPP is increasing controls as the Paris Olympic Games approach.
