The people of Maraussan showed their desire for change during the municipal election this Sunday, March 3. Unambiguously, they voted overwhelmingly for the “Maraussan pour tous” led by Marlène Puche, giving her 1,150 votes out of the 1,760 votes cast, or 65.3%. The list “Maraussan ensemble 2024” led by Serge Pesce, outgoing mayor elected since 2008, only received 610 votes, or 34.7%. 33 invalid ballots and 52 blank ballots were recorded.
A participation rate of 49.37%
It should be noted the strong motivation of voters with a participation rate of 49.37%, perhaps favored by the gloomy weather, and this in the particular context of this consultation. As a reminder, this is a by-election, for two years until 2026, made necessary by the resignation of a third of the municipal councilors.
No second round
The result is definitively acquired and there will be no second round. Marlène Puche should be elected mayor at the next municipal council which will be held next weekend at the latest. This Sunday evening, victorious, she paid tribute to her entire team, for the time devoted to the electoral campaign, the energy, the sharing, the intense moments which enriched all the world."
