Young Quebecer Gabriel Diallo will not be in the main draw at the National Bank Open in Montreal because he was forced to withdraw from his match in the second round of qualifying.< /p>

The 20-year-old athlete was injured during his duel against Frenchman Hugo Gaston. When it came time to pack up, he trailed 2-1 in the second set. Diallo had also lost the first set by 6-2.

The Montrealer and 669th player in the world had caused a nice surprise the day before, beating the Australian James Duckworth, 59th racket in the world, during of the first round of the qualifying tournament.

Diallo was the only Canadian in action at Stade IGA on Sunday. His compatriots Steven Diez, Jaden Weekes, Juan Carlos Aguilar, Liam Draxl and Kelsey Stevenson had all lost in the curtain raiser.
