The show Throughout the province of Quebec in unison celebrating the national day was a “real success”, say organisers.
Taken place in a context of pandemic particular, the show without an audience has been retransmitted by broadcasters, including TVA News.
“This reminds us that it is by being united as a people nourishes its pride and because it has to be said, all of these artists and all the solidarity that is felt, which has brought together all the actors in the complex organization of this show, are enough to make us very proud”, said on Wednesday Martine Desjardins, director general of the national Movement of Quebec and Quebecers.
Under the artistic direction of Jean-François Blais, the show was attended by forty artists, including Pierre Lapointe, Cornelius, Fouki, Cœur de Pirate, Gregory Charles and the flamboyant Fred Pellerin, in a festive atmosphere, contagious even through a tv screen.
The virtual performance took at the beginning a vintage look with this immersion in the archives recounting the highlights of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste since the 1980s.
The show has been a “genuine success,” brought together women from Quebec, has added.
“The 186th edition takes place in a context that is very special and we all share the hope to be elbow-to-elbow, the next year, at parc Jean-Drapeau and in all the districts of the Metropolis,” said Louise Harel, president of the Committee of the Fête nationale in Montreal.
The show “All of Quebec, in unison,” will be rebroadcast Wednesday on Télé-Québec, 21-h.
