New members welcomed at the Singulière Coop in Sète

Ce samedi 28 septembre, l’épicerie solidaire a présenté son fonctionnement à quatre nouvelles adhérentes.

There are now four more of them joining the approximately 250 members of the Coop singulière, established on rue Pierre-Semard in Sète since 2017. This Saturday, September 28, these new members were invited to the premises of the solidarity grocery store to discover how it works and to learn more about their future mission. “When products are missing from stock, how long does it take to replenish them ?”, one of them asked. “This happens roughly every month”, explained Florence Loste, one of the founders of the place. This meeting followed the association forum in which the grocery store participated on September 15. Around thirty interested people left their contact details.

Sponsorship and training

To reassure new members, sponsorship has been set up. “Your sponsor will be able to accompany you in your efforts or be present at your first office”, Florence Loste told the group. “Grocer” training is also offered to them. Elisabeth is one of the new members. Having recently returned to live in Sète, she was already involved in a participatory grocery store in Brest, where she lived. “I wanted to continue the adventure. It's a way to meet new people but also to eat for not too much money and above all to support local producers”, she adds.
