The owners of commercial and residential buildings of Montreal will now have until 1 September to pay their second instalment of municipal taxes.
The date is usually June 1 had already been postponed to July 2, due to the economic difficulties caused by the pandemic. Two additional months are now granted, as announced this morning by the City of Montreal.
“I asked our teams to return all the stones to allow us to offer this additional time to owners from montreal. This initiative represents a major effort of nearly$ 2 billion for the cash of the City for 3 months, but it is the right thing to do given the difficult times we are going through collectively,” said Benoit Dorais, chairman of the executive committee.
