Currently injured in a knee, Eugenie Bouchard hopes to return to action in the coming weeks.
The Quebecer lost in the first round of qualifying at the Internationals from Australia last January. Recently recovered from a nasty shoulder injury, Bouchard still finds himself on the sidelines.
“Eugenie currently has a small glitch in her knee. She hasn't played a match [since the Australian Open],” explained Tennis Canada coach Sylvain Bruneau during his appearance on the podcast La dose.
“We were in contact last week, she told me of her intention to go and play in Mexico and then in Indian Wells,” continued Bruneau.
Some WTA players will be in Monterrey from February 27 to March 5, while the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments will be in March.
“I met her a lot in December, she explained to me that she was really motivated, that she wants to have a good year and come back to a high level,” concluded the Tennis Canada coach, about the one who is currently ranked 317th in the world.
