(Orchard Park) Duke Williams, a former all-star receiver with the Edmonton Football Team in the Canadian League, has been promoted to the regular lineup for the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills’ top two wide receivers Stefon Diggs (oblique) and Cole Beasley (leg) are treating injuries and represent uncertain cases ahead of the team’s first playoff game in Buffalo in 25 years on Saturday against the Colts in ‘Indianapolis.
This is the second time this season that Williams’ name has been included in the regular squad. He had made a field presence in the seventh week of activity against the New York Jets, but had not recorded any statistics.
Last year, Williams appeared in four games for the Bills. He had caught 12 passes for gains of 166 yards and a touchdown. In a loss to the Houston Texans in the first round of playoff last season, he grabbed four passes and amassed 49 yards.
Williams signed a contract with the Bills in January 2019, after two strong seasons in Edmonton.
In 2018, Williams topped the CFL with gains of 1,579 yards.
