Alain Morin, head of the Meilleur Apprentice de France (MAF) Gard-Lozère competition and professor at CMA Mende Formation, accompanied the students during the regional ceremony for the best apprentices, Monday, September 30, 2024, in Montpellier. Three medalists honored and brought pride to CMA Formation Mende, including Nicolas Gely, who was recognized at the national level.

Twenty-five apprentices from Lozère were rewarded for their careers during the regional ceremony of the Best Apprentices of France (MAF), which took place on Monday, September 30 at the central media library in Montpellier. Nicolas Gely has won two gold medals (departmental and regional) and will seek his national MAF title in March 2025, in the roofing ornamentation category. Alain Morin, head of the MAF Gard-Lozère competition and professor at CMA Mende Formation, is proud of these future Lozère artisans.

A title for a future career

“For Lozère, nine professions were represented: grooms and caretakers (Civergols in Saint-Chély-d’Apcher), cooks and carpenters (Sacré-Cœur in Saint-Chély-d’Apcher), beautician and green space gardener (Marvejols), roofer, zinc worker, roofing ornamentalist (CMA Mende Training)", detailed Alain Morin. If the diploma awarded by the society of the Best Workers of France is honorary, it foreshadows a bright future for the recipients: "This will count on their resume, in addition to the diplomas. It is very important for a future hiring", insisted the MAF manager.

Thus, three Lozère residents were awarded prizes. Gabriel Lagarde, departmental silver medal (Les belles noues company, roofing), Baptiste Ribière, departmental gold medal and regional silver medal (Philippe Heude company, roofing framework) and therefore Nicolas Gely, double gold medal (Alexis Roux Couverture company).

“Nicolas is at CMA Mende Formation as an apprentice. On June 6th in Lyon, the national competition took place and he obtained one of the titles of best apprentice in France. He will collect his medal and diploma in March 2025." Alain Morin had noticed the work of the young man : “I immediately saw his potential. He had participated last year but did not pass the national competition. I remobilized him this year and he won, in the hardest option." The remarkable work represents the flame and the Olympic rings: "On all the quotes the margin of error was 1 mm", savors the teacher.
