The animal park now offers evening events every Tuesday with food and refreshments alongside the many activities to discover the place and its many domestic animals.
On the heights of Larzac, behind the village of Caylar, there is an unexpected place where animals from all four corners of the world live peacefully. It is the Parc du Theil, which, this summer, is offering for the first time evening events every Tuesday from 6 p.m., with food and refreshments, in addition to the usual activities.

Hamburgers and craft beers
After immersing themselves in the nature of the park, visitors can cool off with craft beers from the Larzac brewery, enjoy hamburgers from the Causse farm, which is cooked on site, or, for those feeling peckish, enjoy ice cream from Maison Antolin. ” We occasionally hold concerts to add a festive touch” explains Gabin Bertrand, who took over his father Jean-Michel's business four years ago. Soon they will welcome a magician to liven up the evening.

108 different species of animals
" PIn such a hot weather it is nice to be able to visit in the cool of the evening, where it is also easier to see the animals" continues the 28-year-old.
In this 11-hectare wooded park, located on the Causse du Larzac plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 108 species of domestic animals from around the world are gathered. Over two kilometers, along a small path shaded by trees, you can see alpacas from South America, furry chickens from China, four-horned sheep from Northern Europe and many others. “We try to regularly renew the species, recently we welcomed a yak from the Himalayas“, adds the manager.

A welcome for civic services
The visitor will be able to find the usual family activities such as the witch's labyrinth and its mysterious cabin as well as the magical forest with its statuary animals to find. The place also has giant wooden play areas, an adventure course with a zip line and slide as well as a pétanque court for fans. "Often families stay the whole day to do everything" specifies Gabin.
At reception three young people are busy: "these are people in civic service that we hire every summer around six months " he indicates. Meanwhile, in the goat pen, the father climbs over the fence to feed a calf. With his wife Brigitte, they come to support their sons during the nights but also share a friendly moment with visitors and keep the spirit of the place alive.

The patachon sings and brings ancient languages to life
Tuesday, July 30, the music group Une vie de patachon hosted the evening. Twenty-five years ago, Daniel Lozano created the group: ” I sing in Francitan, a mix of French and Occitan as well as Languedocien, the traditional language of the region that my family spoke“, he explains. A singer since the age of 15 in the bars of Montagnac, Daniel became known in the region, particularly with the song “La boiteuse”. Today, he continues his summer tours alongside drummer Fabien Canet in the region.
