Nîmes Olympique: in Lorraine, the Crocos did not go the distance

Ismaël Camara et Nîmes Olympique ont marqué les premiers mais Lenny Nangis et Nancy les ont ensuite sacrément secoués. MAXPPP – Cedric JACQUOT

The Crocos, who opened the scoring, did not resist pressure from Nancy in the second half and lost 3-1, Friday evening in Lorraine, for the 23rd day of the National. Logical defeat.

Nîmes only lasted half-time, Friday March 1 in Nancy. The Crocos, who were leading, were unable, after the break, to curb the fury of the Lorraines, pushed by more than twelve thousand spectators. Their series of five matches without a victory was abruptly stopped. Maintenance is still far from being won.

At halftime, the shot was perfect. Entering the game without complexes, with two incursions from Mbemba, who should try his luck from time to time, the Crocos surprised the Nancéens. In the area, Camara snatched the ball from Pellegrini's feet and his flat foot deceived the former Nîmes Sourzac (0-1, 12th).

Premiere for Camara

It was the former Spinalien’s first goal. It was also, away from home, the first crocodile goal in the first quarter of an hour. Ideal start. What followed was of course Nancy who monopolized the ball, taking it several times into the Gard area, but without really being dangerous. It was Bussmann's initial header, above (9th), which worried Paradowski the most.
The Crocs defended like hell, all together, with aggression and determination. A veritable wall erected in front of their guardian.

Lightning at the restart

At the restart, Nîmes, who had replaced Sbaï, in difficulty in his right lane, and Picouleau, hit in the left ankle, took the lightning and conceded the equalizer, with a heavy strike from Touré in the top corner (1-1, 47th). "We weren’t there, cursed Frédéric Bompard. How can you take a goal like that ?"

"We had to stay calm, proceed in stages and collectively, get closer to the Nîmes goal", summarized Pablo Correa, coach of an ASNL which put more and more intensity and gained the balance of power. From now on, it threatened to crack everywhere in the defense of Crocos at bay, powerless to loosen the grip.

Bompard: "We have to be mentally stronger"

"We have to be mentally stronger, pointed out the crocodile coach. It is not because the opponent equalizes that we must give up, that we destructure ourselves, that we are not able to hold a a little more the ball."

Unsurprisingly, Nîmes ended up cracking. Diouf made a mistake on Nangis and Touré, despite the intoxication of Paradowski, who then touched the ball, transformed the penalty, with the help of the post (2-1, 78th). And Rivas, with a shot close to the post, hit the nail on the head (3-1, 90th +3). Relentless.
