Lors de la course phare de cette 9e édition du NUT, le Drômois a su conserver deux secondes d'avance au final sur le Bordelais. Au prix d'un sprint lancé… dans les arènes.
Like many of the 516 other participants in the 33 km NUT (Nîmes urban trail), this Sunday morning, they too ran for a long time each on their own, and at their own pace. A frantic pace moreover for, here too, the majority of a peloton who saw, or rather… furtively saw Antoine Holuigue and Gwenaël Busseuil, blue bibs on their chests. The duo, after more than two hours of racing, fought for victory at… 2 seconds and Houligue overtook Busseuil in the last ten meters (2:22:01 for Holuigue against 2:22:01). rsquo; 03) !
''It’It’s incredible because we’were almost not together during the whole race, summed up, with great joy, Holuigue, 29 years old , winner of the flagship race of this 9th edition. He was in front, then I came back. He left, I came back…''
Holuigue: ''You have to love stairs…''
Until the member of Team atc 26 Donzère tore the Stade Bordelais resident… while crossing the arena. Busseuil sums up: ''I leave alone for 24 km, he pushes hard, comes back, takes almost 30 seconds ahead before, on the last ass shots in town, I never come back again. In addition, I was afraid that he would not be able to make the ending because, at one point, he took the bike that was leading the way for us. Then, there, in the arenas, he accelerated…'' Fatal and decisive (Benoît Enauld – Aix-Les-Bains; 3rd in 2 h 24’39).
In addition to taming his runner-up and the competition, the Drômois did the same with the course. ''This is only my second urban trail after Carcassonne, last week, that I won, he emphasized, in full preparation for the Ventoux trail, beginning March. This is the first time I've visited schools, museums… Well then, you have to like stairs (smile).''
With Coralie Blanchard, Ac2a is still there
Going up, going down but, above all, crossing the line in the lead, nothing, either, posed a problem for Alésienne Coralie Blanchard, the Ac2a licensee, winner of the women's race over the 33 km in 2 h 45’25 (17th overall).
Over the 22 km, Gard was in the spotlight with the victories of Vergézois Théo Martinion (1 h 33 ’ 40) among the men and Marion Barlaguet (1 h 54 ’ 03) among the men. women.
