No final for Aguessac who lost on penalties to Naucelle

The die is cast. Winner in 2019, the club from the city of Tripou will reunite with Paul-Lignon and the Saint-Georgiens to compete for the prestigious Aveyron Cup. But this qualification took a long time to emerge for the protégés of coach Abdelkader Medjahri. In a meeting where the wind and bumpy terrain did not help the twenty-two actors to produce a beautiful show.

As it is said: "In a few years, we will not remember the manner but only the winner". And this is how Axel Couderc, the central defender of the yellow and black of Naucelle, came to seal the fate of the match after more than 120 minutes of play and a last shot on goal taken without trembling. To send all the people of Naucellois into indescribable joy and emotions that only the cup of Aveyron can produce for a village.

"The conditions were complicated, I wasn't expecting a great match but a little better all the same and with a little less waste. Penalties are a bit of luck. It's a real satisfaction because it was a goal at the start of the season, assured coach Medjahri with emotion.

Naucelle returns to the finale, five years later

On the Nagassol side, it was time for regret after the elimination. Especially for their player-coach, Selim Bourdif, who is 43 years old and still in good shape, saw himself as one last opportunity to take the Violets to paradise. "Above all, there is frustration at losing on penalties. We had drawn with them twice and there a third time. It’s a huge regret for everyone, the club. The meeting was sterile, it came down to details. We perhaps missed a little of this madness which makes the difference in the genre of meetings. For me, it was my last. It was a great story, we would have liked to have gone to the end, they deserved it as much as we did, conceded good player the one who hangs up the player's crampons and the coach's apron at the end of the season.

The madness missed the Sud-Aveyronnais and they paid for the absence of their goléador, Brice Ladet, injured during the final training of the week. This morning, it’s Aguessac who cries and Naucelle who laughs. The Naucellois will meet another team from the south on May 25, rue Vieussens: Saint-Georges, who qualified on Saturday evening against Espalion (3-1).

For a meeting which looks promising between regulars of the competition (Naucelle) and new guests (Saint-Georges) to sit at the table of the privileged qualified for the final cutting. "As a Tarnais resident, I discovered this ordeal, I had been told about it. I started to see the excitement, especially on the quarter and there were still a few more people, so Paul-Lignon, it must be impressive. It's the Aveyron football festival, I can't wait to be there", enthused Medjahri. See you in a little less than two months!
