No new sanitary measures despite the 7th wave of COVID-19

The province has officially entered the seventh wave of COVID-19, but Quebec is not considering the return of the mask or health restrictions.

“We is not there at all, ”said Minister Christian Dubé, who however called for vigilance, while the number of cases and hospitalizations is on the rise in Quebec. “Our famous virus is still circulating,” he recalled.

The epidemiological situation is still “under control” in the province. Nevertheless, Minister Christian Dubé and the national director of public health, Dr. Luc Boileau, hammered home the importance for the population of respecting the rules of isolation. “For me, it's one of the ways to live with the virus,” said the Minister of Health.

Dose reminder

In addition to the isolation rules in the event of COVID-19 infection, Christian Dubé and Dr. Boileau reiterated the importance of getting their booster dose to help limit the spread of the virus.

In this sense, Quebec will publish a decision tree to guide the population on the right time to get a new dose of vaccine. In addition, Minister Dubé has indicated that he will pick up his booster dose this afternoon.

Dr. Boileau also advises people over 60 to cover their faces in public places and confined spaces. He also recommends wearing a mask for Quebecers suffering from chronic illnesses and those who are immunosuppressed.
