MONTREAL – Despite the heatwave, Montrealers will have to wait a few weeks before being able to cool off at the beach John Golden, as well as the aquatic Complex and olympic Basin at parc Jean-Drapeau.
The opening dates will not be the same for each installation. The olympic Pool will be the first to welcome the swimmers, by the first week of July.
The beach John Golden and the large swimming pool recreational swimming pool Complex will open between the second and the third week of July. Visitors will not have access to locker rooms to these two facilities and will therefore have to put their bathing suit in advance.
“By then, the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau (SPJD) needs to hire lifeguards, maintenance staff, to prepare its parking facilities and ensure the quality of the water of the facilities,” said the City in a press release Sunday morning. The parking lots of the SPDJ began to reopen gradually.
