Not of distancing on the beaches of Quebec

Pas de distanciation sur les plages du Québec

Finally déconfinés and in the middle of a heat wave, many Quebecers have left the large centres this Saturday to head to the beaches and waterways to enjoy the nice weather. However, the rules of hygiene and social distancing seemed to have disappeared.

Many of the pictures showing the crowded beaches in Quebec were sent to TVA Nouvelles.

There was a crowd at the lake Maskinongé, Saint-Gabriel, in Lanaudière, or even on the city beach in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge in the Laurentians, and also to Shannon in the region of the Capitale-Nationale region. In these three examples, the mask was absent, and the social distancing was completely evacuated.

These gatherings of crowds, which have also been seen in some bars, night clubs and terraces of the greater Montreal area, of concern to health experts.

“It is a matter of concern”, drops the Dr. Caroline Quach, a pediatrician and microbiologist-infectiologist at the CHU Sainte-Justine in an interview with TVA News.

“You understand, it’s been three months that there is in us, encabané, it is beautiful, it is to be found in our gardens. One has the impression that there is nothing more, and that we can get back to the state prépandémie, while this is absolutely not the case. When you look at what is happening in the United States, we see that when we release it, well the case back. We will not see it immediately, but it will pick up. If it goes up, we will be forced to reconfiner, and this is what you want to absolutely avoid,” details-t-it.

She adds that wearing the mask inside will be a particularly important issue in the fight against the COVID.
