The symptoms of the Omicron variant of COVID appear to be very different from the Delta variant, and would be rather “mild”, according to a South African doctor who has seen several patients affected by this new strain which is worrying about the world.
Dr Angelique Coetzee, president of the South African Medical Association, told the BBC on Sunday that she started seeing patients with “unusual” symptoms as early as the 18th. last November. & nbsp;

These symptoms seem to be more “extremely mild”, according to this doctor who has sounded the alarm in her country. & nbsp;
“It started with a male patient about 33 years old … and he told me he's just been extremely tired the last few days and he's been having these aches and pains with a bit of trouble. head, ”she explained in an interview with the BBC.
The patient did not have a sore throat, but rather a sensation of“ scratching ”in the throat. He did not have a cough, or loss of taste or smell, symptoms that have been associated with previous strains of the coronavirus.
Dr. Angelique Coetzee explained that the patient tested positive for COVID as did his family. She said she saw several with these milder side effects of COVID during the same day. & Nbsp; & nbsp;
Colleagues had also observed these symptoms in many patients. & Nbsp;
“What we are seeing clinically in South Africa, and remember I am at the epicenter where I practice, is extremely mild, for us they are mild cases. We didn't admit anyone, I have spoken to other colleagues of mine and they tell me the same thing, ”she added.
