Onet Technologies, in Chusclan, presented its new laser technocentre on Thursday, October 3, for nuclear dismantling.
The company Onet Technologies inaugurated its new laser technocentre on Thursday, October 3, in Chusclan. This technology is a modern tool used for dismantling nuclear sites such as the one in Marcoule. The innovation consists of a laser fixed on a remotely controlled robotic arm. The laser reduces cutting cycles and eliminates the need for consumable materials. All with greater reliability.
“The group's interest is to learn how to dismantle sites with competence and at a price reduced by 30 to 50%“” declared Alain Gauvin, the group's CEO, who was present at the inauguration on Thursday.
A versatile laser
Onet Technologies' laser was developed to be used outdoors and underwater. The project focuses on three main issues: training in dismantling, training operators and advancing technological innovation.
“This technology is easy to deploy, enthuses Julien Catherine, a member of the Onet Technologies team. The laser is sent to sites where people cannot reach and can treat problems at any time.“
Onet Technologies works with several groups including the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in Marcoule and EDF.
