Ontarians aged 12 and over will need to obtain proof in the form of a QR code if they wish to use places requiring the vaccination passport starting January 4.

According to information reported by the Globe and mail , old vaccination certificates, without a QR code, can no longer be accepted by traders. People with a medical exemption will also have to obtain a code, while doctor's notes will no longer be authorized as of January 10.

The vaccination passport was introduced in Ontario in September and was scheduled to end in mid-January. However, the premier of the province announced at the beginning of December that it will be maintained.

The Ontario government has assured that the “Verify Ontario” application will also allow the verification of QR codes issued by other provinces of Canada.
