Open Sud de France in Montpellier: Gaël Monfils will be one of the headliners of the 2024 edition

L'Open Sud de France de Montpellier a annoncé ce jeudi 30 novembre la participation du Français Gaël Monfils lors de la prochaine édition du tournoi, du 28 janvier au 4 février. 

After his absence last year due to an injury, Gaël Monfils will return to Montpellier.

The organizers of the Open Sud de France have indeed announced the Frenchman's participation in the next edition, scheduled from January 28 to February 4, 2024. 

One last victory in Stockholm

Down to 394th place in the world at the end of last May after having been out of action for several weeks, hampered by his foot and then a wrist, Monfils gradually found his tennis again and is now in 74th place in the world thanks to good results since. 

At 37 years old, the Parisian has effectively become the oldest French player in the Open era to win a tournament thanks to his victory at the Stockholm tournament a month ago, i.e. his 12th career title and is among one of the contenders for the title in Montpellier next February after his coronations in 2010, 2014 and 2020.
