Oriental cuisine in Moscow, or What to try in the Oxus?
The flavor and traditions of Central Asia — a new interpretation!
When the name Oxus wore the Amu Darya river – the deepest river in Central Asia. Now it (as well as the culinary traditions of the East) took over Moscow restaurant.
Here, in the city center, serves Uzbek cuisine – with reverence to the recipe and ingredients (here so follow the authenticity of flavors, the products are imported directly from Central Asia). On the first floor there are wardrobes for dry aging of meat and marble outdoor ice showcase: here you can choose any piece of meat, fish or seafood.
What to try? Salad acecook fresh, tender onions and tomatoes with herbs and black pepper, hot Uygur lagman, lamb tandoori from the woods or dimlama stew with vegetables oxtail, and for dessert, for example, halvaytar – “liquid paste” – with caramelized nuts.
Surprisingly, this splendor is quite Eastern neighbours of the European kitchen. Italian cold cuts bresaola, Spanish jamon and Uzbek kazylyk, that is, the meat sausage.
And yet – skewers of lamb and t-bone steak, king crab with melted butter or with avocado sauce and orange peppers. And maybe you’d prefer salmon with mango sauce lemongrass?
A visit to the Oxus is a gastronomic world trip with start and finish in Central Asia.
Eastern cuisine is rich in aromas and flavors. For her to find fault not everyone can afford a sommelier, but in the Oxus to cope with this task: the waiters always recommend a good combination of dishes (and the wine list are as many as 160 varieties in bottles and 12 glasses).
It serves creative cocktails from Kirill Filimonov – the fusion of European and Asian cultures. Based on Cyril takes strong alcohol, and complements it with dried fruit, nuts, seasonings and spices to correctly place Eastern accents. Now the bar seven signature cocktails, which will continue to change.
Design space is engaged in Valery Lizunov. His main task was to create a modern interior without cliché, typical of the “Oriental restaurant”, but also to emphasize the individuality of the Oxus.

On two floors there are six rooms: two large main; two rooms for fifteen people, equipped private kitchen; attic for ten people; covered porch with access to the yard. In summer, guests can relax on the spacious balconies. All spaces are decorated differently, but in the same style. And what simply cannot be silent: from the OXUS has its own Parking!
