Depuis plusieurs mois, Erwan, âgé de 5 ans et épileptique, doit porter une chasuble à l’école, pendant la récréation, à cause de son handicap. Les parents s’insurgent et réclament un retour à la normale.
The situation has been going on for several months. Erwan, aged 5 and epileptic, has been attending the Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry public nursery school in Tournon-sur-Rhône (North Ardèche) for two years. However, for some time now, the little boy has had to wear a pinafore during recess. A measure taken by the establishment because of his disability, says Le Dauphiné Libéré.
"It’the whole family is suffering"
The parents of the young Ardèche resident, furious, denounce a system that stigmatizes the schoolboy. "Our son is very unwell. My wife only sleeps three hours a night. It's the whole family that suffers", declares the father to our colleagues.
A security measure
However, for the establishment, this chasuble was indeed a precaution to ensure the safety of Erwan: "L& rsquo;objective was for the other students at the school to pay more attention to Erwan during recess.", explains the deputy mayor of Tournon-sur-Rhône .
From this Monday, May 27, the young boy will no longer have to wear this outfit.
