A 66-year-old man was arrested Sunday night in Chelsea, Outaouais, after dangerously erratic driving with one more drink in his head.
The driver was traveling around 8:35 p.m. in the opposite lane on rue Saint-Louis northbound, before returning to the right lane, not without hitting a snow curb.
The man ran a red light when turning left on the Alonzo-Wright bridge, before taking the opposite lane, narrowly avoiding a face-to-face which would have been fatal for him to burn another fire red at the intersection of Route 105.
Police preceded his arrest when the driver stopped to enter a residence.
Tests revealed a blood alcohol level well above the authorized limit, indicated the Police Department of the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais.
The repeat offender had his driver's license suspended and his vehicle arrested. i for 90 days, it was added.
The 60-year-old to whom the police have given a statement of offense will appear in court next April.
