MISE À DAY
For a very long time, Quebec outfitters have offered services to snowmobilers. To give you an example of what it is possible to have in terms of stays and services, I have chosen to present the Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc, located in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts.
« We started in outfitting 27 years ago. From the start, we had a European clientele who were interested in snowmobiling,” explained owner Gaston Pellerin.
“ Over the years, we have become involved in the snowmobile world, even going so far as to create “La Trail à Gaston”. It leaves from the Mastigouche wildlife reserve and brings snowmobilers to the courtyard of the Inn. We work in collaboration with the Club motoneige Mastigouche.
“I would tell you that the majority of the trails in the region lead to us since snowmobilers can reach us via local trails 319, 350 and 349. We straddle the Mauricie and Lanaudière regions. We can accommodate more than 200 people and offer them the services they are looking for. »
On the site of the outfitter, you can take advantage of the catering services, accommodation, swimming pool interior, ice fishing and dog sledding excursions.
“We want to offer the maximum to the people who visit us so that their experience lives up to their expectations,” says the owner. Over time, we have developed our offer with a snowmobile rental service, including all the clothing, and more, for people who would like to learn about this unique winter hobby.
«  ;We have built a mini-circuit of 140 kilometres. Our fleet has 27 machines. We believe in this winter activity which represents a lot for us in terms of financial benefits. It's the same for all the other outfitters in Quebec that offer services to snowmobilers.
Snowmobilers can circulate freely on the site and park near the inn where you can find the various services offered by the outfitter.
“Quebec, with its network of trails and all the club volunteers who work there, is truly snowmobile country.”
To find out more about the packages offered and all the other services, you can call the outfitter directly at (819)265-4242 or visit the site www.pourvoirielacblanc.com.
Across the Quebec
The example that I presented to you with the Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc can be found everywhere, in several regions of Quebec. More than a hundred outfitters are there to offer you accommodation, gas, guided discovery activities and more, not to mention catering.
The outfitters know their territory very well. They are able to help you discover it through organized hikes or, if you are looking for thrills, you can go off-piste with several of them.
One of the best way to sum up the situation is to give you figures that say it all about the services that outfitters can offer snowmobilers.
Thus, 46 outfitters in 13 regions of Quebec offer services to snowmobilers. For guided outings, 34 outfitters in 11 regions are available to snowmobilers who wish to make discoveries during their stay.
In the regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Baie-James, Côte-Nord, Lanaudière, Laurentians, Mauricie, Quebec/Charlevoix, Outaouais and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, 14 outfitters offer off-trail snowmobile excursions.
In total, 67 outfitters are snowmobile relays, in 11 regions of Quebec. The relays are a distinction offered to outfitters that offer catering and fuel services. In addition, these outfitters guarantee direct marked access to local or provincial trails. These are great places to stop for a break or to start a snowmobile getaway.
For beginners too
If you are a novice and want to discover the world of snowmobiling, you can take advantage of a stay in one of the 31 outfitters that offer snowmobile rentals. They are located in the regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Baie-James, Côte-Nord, Lanaudière, Laurentides, Mauricie, Québec/Charlevoix, Outaouais and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.
A stay in an outfitter is a unique nature experience. Outfitters offer a multitude of possibilities, which can be a stay in a cabin with ice fishing or even in an inn with a dog sled ride.
To find the outfitter that suits you, you can go to the website www.pourvoiries.com, under the snowmobile tab.
THE CONDITIONS OF TRAILS
The latest snowfalls that fell on Quebec have greatly changed the state of the trail network . By going to the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec website at www.fcmq.qc.ca, you will quickly see on the map of trail conditions that the vast majority of trails are open and very often offer perfect conditions. . Closures are limited to a few small areas. However, waterways can be a problem in several places. It therefore becomes imperative to carefully consult the map or the iMotoneige application before planning a ride. Finally, the season has taken off.
