Villeroux decisive again
Captain Frédéric Villeroux scored the third winning penalty to crown the French team, while French goalkeeper Alessandro Bartolomucci made a save just before.
The French had opened the scoring through Villeroux, again, before conceding a goal in the process. The Argentinians, who beat Brazil in the semi-finals, who had never lost in a Paralympic tournament since the advent of blind football in 2004, won silver after becoming world champions in 2023.
