Paris 2024 Olympic Games: firefighters mobilized during the Olympic Games will be able to benefit from a bonus of more than 1,500 euros

Les pompiers mobilisés lors des Jeux olympiques et paralympiques de Paris pourront bénéficier d’une prime de 1 600 € voire 1 900 € brut, selon un décret et deux arrêtés publiés au Journal officiel mardi, à un peu plus de deux semaines de l’ouverture des JO.

An "Olympic bonus" had already been announced in January and increased to 1,900 euros for police officers and gendarmes working in Île-de-France. Likewise, the compensation paid could reach 1 900 euros for the Paris firefighters (military personnel intervening in the capital and the three departments of the "inner crown") and professional firefighters of Yvelines.

These firefighters mobilized where the main Olympic sites are located will be entitled to this increase "due to the intensity of their commitment" , specifies the decree.

The Marseille unions had mobilized

The bonus will be 1 600 euros, for mobilization of at least ten days, for professional firefighters serving in fire and rescue services outside Yvelines , the soldiers of the Marseille firefighters and the volunteers.

The professional firefighters' unions mobilized in mid-May on a national scale to demand in particular a bonus for their involvement during the Olympic Games (26  July – August 11) and Paralympics (August 28 – September 8).

"The police obtained bonuses ranging from 1 500 to 1 900 euros. We are asking the same thing", one of their union representatives then argued.
