Le sélectionneur des Bleues Hervé Renard annoncera jeudi une pré-liste de 24 joueuses qui seront retenues pour la préparation du tournoi olympique.

Les Bleues coach Hervé Renard will announce on Thursday a pre-list of 24 players who will be selected for the preparation of the Olympic tournament, as well as for the last two qualifying matches for Euro-2025, before a final list on the 5th. nbsp;July.

There is little uncertainty for this list, as the coach recalled that the future call-ups were part of the last selection, apart from the injured Eugénie Le Sommer and Griedge Mbock.

"The 18 players or even the 22 for the Olympic Games are probably in this list", Hervé indicated at the end of May Renard during the last gathering, from which Amel Majri and Clara Mateo were absent, who will therefore logically not be at the Paris Olympics. On the other hand, the two captains of Les Bleues and OL, Le Sommer – operated on the knee – and Mbock – unknown injury –, will be part of the Olympic adventure if they are returned in time.

The final list on July 5

The question also arises for PSG midfielder Oriane Jean-François, at the end of his contract, who suffered a partial rupture of the cruciate ligament in his right knee last October. Now, she is physically fit to be called, according to those around her.

This final list for the Olympic tournament of 18 selected players and 4 reserves will be announced around July 5. If the titular goalkeeper is known, Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, Hervé Renard will have to determine who Constance Picaud or Solène Durand – penalty shootout specialist – will be a reservist.

In defense, places are reserved for captain Wendie Renard, Griedge Mbock, Maëlle Lakrar, Elisa De Almeida and Sakina Karchaoui. Ève Périsset, Estelle Cascarino and Thiniba Samoura, present during the last gathering, are in the balance for last place.

Start of preparation Monday

In the midfield, the coach will rely on Grace Geyoro, Sandie Toletti, Kenza Dali, Selma Bacha, and Amandine Henry, who did not score a point against England to be one of the starters at the Olympics. The last ticket is played between Sandy Baltimore and Léa Le Garrec In attack, Eugenie Le Sommer (if she is postponed), Kadidiatou Diani, Delphine Cascarino and Marie-Antoinette Katoto will be part of the adventure, while Vicki Becho and Julie Dufour are competing to play in the Olympics.

Before this final list, the preparation course will begin next Monday in Clairefontaine (Yvelines), where the Bleues will meet after almost three weeks of vacation. Wendie Renard's teammates ended their long season on June 5 after the double confrontation against England (one victory, one defeat) during qualifying for Euro-2025.

For some – the Lyonnaises – they directly followed the Champions League final against FC Barcelona (2-0 defeat) in Bilbao with the Blues gathering to prepare for the two matches against the reigning world vice-champions and European champions. Before the ultimate objective of the Olympics, which will begin with a first match against Colombia on July 25, the Blue must finish their work and qualify for Euro-2025 in Switzerland.

They can do it from July 12 if they beat Sweden in Dijon (9:10 p.m.), before meeting the Republic of Ireland on July 16 in Cork (7 p.m. ). At the head of their group, the Bleues – second in Fifa – will also be able to take advantage of these two meetings to work on the content of the game, worrying in sequences against England. And first of all the offensive animation, which is at half mast. In 2024, France has still not scored in the game, but only from set pieces, i.e. 11 of the last 14 goals.
