The French team played the final of the Olympic Games rugby 7s tournament against Fiji this Saturday, July 27. And they won!

Magnificent, splendid, astonishing! The Blues are Olympic rugby 7s champions, beating the double reigning champions Fiji in the final (28-7). France was able to count on a gala Antoine Dupont, author of an assist and the try of the break.

Dupont's ride

The first half was tense (7-7). The second started off at a cracking pace with this fantastic ride by Antoine Dupont along the touchline, serving Aaron Grandidier for the second try. Then the Toulouse player scored twice in the space of a few minutes.

Some feared the Fijians' mental advantage. The Pacific players had won on Thursday, during the third group match (19-12). Not at all!
