Environ deux millions de billets pour assister aux épreuves des Jeux paralympiques Paris 2024 ont été vendus à la veille de la cérémonie d’ouverture, a annoncé mardi le patron du comité d’organisation Tony Estanguet.
"We have already sold about two million tickets. “We have stadiums that will be full,” said Tony Estanguet during a press conference with the president of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons.
More than 200,000 schoolchildren expected
Early this afternoon, Paris 2024 will put new tickets on sale for the most popular sites, such as the Grand Palais, the Eiffel Tower stadium, Les Invalides and the Château de Versailles, which were previously unavailable for sale.
Among the spectators, "200 000 schoolchildren" will be in the stadiums, in order to “capitalize on the return to school” on Monday, September 2, said Tony Estanguet. "It's also a way to get a message across to this age group, the change in perspective also depends on this generation".

Another 500,000 tickets are still available, particularly in sports such as Boccia, a uniquely Paralympic sport similar to pétanque, para-weightlifting, or at the Stade de France for para-athletics.
"We're going to keep selling tickets"
"Boccia was a hit in Tokyo. It requires skill, strategy […] in the Games, the first impression of the public is often surprise, but then the connection occurs with the athletes,” defended Mr. Parsons.
“I know that we will continue to sell tickets even during the competition and until the end, as for the Olympic Games,” assured Mr. Estanguet. The opening ceremony takes place on Wednesday and the events will take place until Sunday, September 8.
