Phytocontrol is thus expanding its analysis area and constructing an additional building, next to the existing laboratory, Parc Georges-Besse in Nîmes.

The Phytocontrol group, laboratories specializing in food safety and the environment, announces the construction of a new structure of 5,500 m², thus supporting its analytical park at 12,000m². In order to support its development dynamic, Phytocontrol is expanding its analysis area and is having an additional building built, next to the existing laboratory, Parc Georges-Besse in Nîmes.

300 additional employees expected

This establishment, considered "avant-garde and eco-responsible", work on which began in spring 2024, will bring together all of the group’s strategic activities across its three& nbsp;Agrifood, Waters and Biopharma markets. This site, spread over 2 levels, will also host Phytocontrol Audit, Consulting & Training, as well as Zest HACCP, the digital solution which supports its customers in the area of Health Control Plan. The whole will thus form an analytical platform of 12,000 m², one of the largest and most technological in Europe, creating an integrated environment conducive to innovation and productivity.

This additional space has been sized to accommodate 300 additional employees, experienced technicians, scientists and IT, thus providing the possibility of adapting to the scale of the group in the years to come. This investment of nearly 15 M€ will allow Phytocontrol to best respond to all the analysis requests of its customers, to strengthen its R & D and ensure complete control of its supply chain.

5 500m² additional for a single platform of 12,000m²

This central structure will be at the forefront of technology and innovation. Artificial intelligence and process automation coupled with human actions are at the heart of the project. The rooms dedicated to contaminant analyses, R & D, microbiology, biotechnology and technical services are calibrated to receive ultra-modern equipment and high production capacity.

The laboratory was designed in accordance with Phytocontrol's CSR approach, with responsible purchases of sustainable materials from mainly local service providers. In order to reduce its carbon footprint, photovoltaic panels intended to produce part of the electricity consumption and an energy recovery system will be installed.

400 m2 dedicated to the well-being of employees

"This building will make it possible to work on food safety and the environment in the best possible way. In addition, quality and living conditions at work being a priority for Phytocontrol, we wanted to offer our employees the fulfillment and development of their potential: more than 400m² will thus be dedicated to their well-being, in particular thanks to a roof terrace and a creativity room, comments Mikaël Bresson, president of the Phytocontrol group. Thanks to the renewed support of the agglomeration of Nîmes and the Occitanie region for this project, Phytocontrol will thus strengthen its roots in its historic territory of Gard.
