Mediterranean oysters and Picpoul de Pinet, the beautiful combination. VITINOVA

The tour of the famous Hérault wine appellation makes a stopover, with Mediterranean oysters, at the market halls between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. this Sunday, June 16.

"It's not because the situation isn't flamboyant that we have to stop everything!& quot; The president of the Ormarine cellar, Grégory Farras, is keen to maintain this element of conviviality despite a context weighed down by political turmoil. Picpoul de Pinet and Mediterranean oysters are coming to the market halls of Nîmes this Sunday, June 16, for a great moment of sharing.

Better awareness of the appellation

"It has now been a year since we began our tour of the halls. It works very well, judge Grégory Farras. This itinerant journey, which has already brought this combination of white wine and oysters to the market halls of Béziers and Narbonne, will soon stop in Toulouse and Millau. The goal ? To highlight the picpoul de pinet appellation to the premises."We communicate with exports but, ultimately, little in our production area. We want to make our product better known in our region and have it tasted by tourists who pass there, adds Grégory Farras. We want to remind everyone that we are here, that we are moving and that we offer excellent products!"

A friendly and educational moment

A reality which leads the appellation to attract a large number of consumers. "We benefit from good consistency, with a 2024 vintage which is still very good. This makes it a great locomotive which allows us to also promote our other products, concludes Grégory Farras. Who will be represented, this Sunday, on the square in front of the halls rue Guizot, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., by Cécile Cardona, winemaker at the Ormarine cellar, next to the ;rsquo;Fourestier Ganigal company for oysters.

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., professionals (wine growers/oyster farmers) will offer a tasting of their products to visitors, city dwellers and tourists who will then be able to enjoy a moment friendly and educational in the presence of producers. Presence of a union stand where each visitor is invited to have a drink with 3 tasting tickets (1 ticket = 1 oyster and/or 1 ticket = 1 tasting).
