The City of Sète and its partners are organizing various events for Pink October, a month dedicated to breast cancer prevention and awareness. These actions are coordinated by the City with its Local Health Contract (CLS), the “Associations” and Neighborhoods” department, the culture department, the entertainment department, the CCAS, the CISPDR (Intercommunal Council for Security and Prevention of Delinquency and Radicalization) and the sports department.
The March of the Amazons
Throughout the month of October, some Sète merchants are offering events, such as the M.A. Beauty Institute (28, rue Paul-Valéry) which is organizing a raffle with many prizes to be won. The profits will be donated to the Sète association Les Moissons du Coeur, committed to helping children's diseases.
This same association is organizing, Saturday October 5, the March of the Amazons, from 9 am to 1 pm, starting from Place Roger-Thérond, in Sète. On the same day, the League against Cancer of the Hérault committee is offering a show entitled “Christian sings Sardou”, at the Brassens hall at 9 pm, with the artist Christian Bonail.
A candy sale
The Agora Club is planning, on Saturday October 19, a sale of pink candies on the forecourt of the Halles de Sète, in favor of the Entre Nous association, which supports women suffering from breast cancer.
Also on October 19, a Pink October morning is organized, at the initiative of the City, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the town hall square. Many activities are planned, such as a participatory floral workshop or a women's photo exhibition.
On Thursday October 24, a pink march will leave at 9 a.m. from the Nicolas-Gabino social center. During the morning, a nurse will offer breast cancer awareness (free registration at the social center reception).
The full program can be found on the City's website.
