Beaten in Angoulême (30-16), ASBH will still receive a play-off. It will be Brive Friday May 24. A relief for three-quarter coach Karne Kaufana.
What analysis do you make of this match at Soyaux ?
It’s complicated. We knew we had sent a 'JIFF team', we wanted to rest some players before the final phase. But we had confidence in those who made this trip. We thought we could stay in contact with the opponent as long as possible and then do something at the end. We faced a great team from Soyaux-Angoulême. We lacked discipline in the first half and were less efficient in winning. There were a lot of young players…
Are you satisfied with their service ?
Of course because there were good deeds. Maxime Vacquier played his first match as a starter, he did the job, Harry Glinn continues to progress, he had a decent match. There were positives even if the score is not in our favor.
There must have been some relief seeing the other results ?
Absolutely. At the end of the match we were all on the phones. We thought it would be Nevers, then Brive. We are very happy to receive, especially for the public who supported us this season. People will be able to come to the stadium for this play-off match, it’s great.
You've been slow lately, there have been injuries, how's the group doing??
We lost Rafaelle Storti, Sias Koen and Paul Recor. It’s a difficult time, but we have our confidence in the players who will replace them. We're going to focus on freshness this week in training, but it's a real boost to be able to play this final phase match at home. This club has been waiting for this for a long time, it’s an opportunity for the whole group.
