Police chase in the Laurentians: a cyclist injured

Poursuite policière dans les Laurentides: un cycliste blessé

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has seen of all colors, Friday evening in the Laurentians, with a driver in flight, which, in a few minutes, has struck another vehicle and badly wounded a cyclist before they succeed in thwarting the police.

It all started around 23h when the police officers attempted to intercept a motorist who was travelling at over 170 km/h on highway 50 in the Mirabel area.

The driver did as if nothing had happened and sped eastbound on route 158. Police then lost track of him for the first time at the intersection of the chemin Dupuis.

The SQ said that they had had news of the fugitive a few minutes later, after he had at once caught up to a motorist, then broke a cyclist in the sector of the chemin Dumoulin.

The cyclist has suffered serious injuries, but we aren’t afraid for his life. As to the driver of the other vehicle, she was pulled out without injury, has also indicated the Sûreté du Québec.

The police finally found the car abandoned by the fugitive to 23: 30, near a church of the montée Masson in Sainte-Sophie.

Since then, the police were still looking for the driver, on a Saturday afternoon, and no arrests had been made in this folder.

The SQ has made it known that she was looking for a particular man, but has not published notice of research.

The Division of the major crimes of the Sûreté du Québec is responsible for the investigation, has been added.
