WATERLOO – A man has been missing since early Saturday morning while he was on a pedal boat with a friend on the Waterloo lake, in the municipality of the same name, in the Montérégie region.
The emergency services were called shortly before 5 pm, after that two individuals in their twenties are found in difficulties with their paddle boat which capsized, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
One of them has managed to regain the bank of the lake to swim, while the other has sunk in the water, has been provided.
Firefighters were called on the spot with boats to begin research.
The boat was recovered and the man who managed to get out of the water was not injured, added a spokesman for the SQ.
Divers of the SQ were in the direction Saturday morning to continue the search in an active way.
