Post Office Strike: “They can’t take it anymore”, why postal workers are called to mobilize this Tuesday, April 2 ?

A strike notice was filed by the La Poste inter-union association for this Tuesday, April 2. The movement is part of a standoff over the working conditions and remuneration of postal workers in post offices.

The delivery of your mail risks being disrupted tomorrow: the unions of La Poste employees are calling for a strike and demonstrations this Tuesday, April 2, to denounce a ;"deterioration of working conditions" and  "rampant precariousness ".

"La Poste staff are undergoing reorganizations, transfers, and pressure of all kinds, writes the Sud PTT union in a press release. In addition, the use of precarious employment is becoming massive and culpable on the part of a company that must carry out public service missions", writes the inter-union in a press release published this Friday March 29.

Gatherings in several cities

The unions denounce in particular the "meager salary increases which will not compensate for the inflation which is crushing the remaining income of the staff" and deplores the "massive" to precarious jobs.

The trade union organizations believe that the measures taken lead to a "deterioration of working conditions".  They demand its withdrawal and "the opening of new negotiations". "The postal workers stick out their tongues, are on minimum wage, can no longer bear to see their jobs despised by a governance that plays the role of apprentice shareholders of the CAC 40", add the unions.

Rallies are planned in several cities in France and many post offices are expected to remain closed this Tuesday.
