“Pothole” operation by angry bikers in Montpellier and Frontignan

Un message adressé à deux des parlementaires du département. Midi Libre – JEAN MICHEL MART

The federation of angry bikers carried out a "pothole" this Sunday morning on the occasion of the Easter weekend to remind people of the importance of having roads in good condition. A procession notably went to the offices of deputies Nathalie Oziol in Montpellier and Sylvain Carrière in Frontignan.

It has become an event almost as traditional as the egg hunt. This Sunday morning, at the call of the Federation of Angry Bikers, "pothole" were carried out across the country to remind managing authorities of the importance of having roads in good condition. "It’is a national issue of taking road safety into account. The network has failed. France went from 3rd to 10th in the world for the state of its roads" underlines Eric Moreau, secretary of the FFMC of Hérault.

Problems with commons

This Sunday, a procession of around twenty vehicles took to the road, stopping to point out potholes, holes and other damaged roads after work. "What's curious here is that the companies that make holes don't fill them well and no one says anything"adds Jean-Michel Sénéchal. The bikers notably went to the office of the MP for the 2nd constituency of Montpellier, Nathalie Oziol to convey a simple message, written on the asphalt: "take care of the roads we takes care of our motorcycles". They then headed towards Frontignan and the premises of MP Sylvain Carrière. The operation, which is intended to be symbolic, was also supposed to pass through Sète but the idea was abandoned due to the festival of old rigging, Stopover in Sète.

Officials of the FFMC34 regularly report traffic difficulties due to the state of the road, speed bumps of non-standard dimensions or "locks&quot ; (the narrowings to one lane) poorly signaled. "With the Department things are going well, we don't have many reports to make. The problem is more with the municipalities and intercommunalities" observes Eric Moro.
