These are the Biterrois who are particularly motivated and determined to bring back new success who are traveling, this Friday, April 5 (7:30 p.m.), to Rouen against opponents who are gambling for their survival. This looks tense.
Exit the bus and a journey as endless as it is trying. To get to Rouen, where they are playing this Friday April 5 (7:30 p.m.), the ASBH players took the plane to Paris. Immediately, they boarded a bus to reach the Norman capital. A shortened trip which required the club to put its hand in its pocket and which says a lot about its motivation, six days before the end of regular hostilities.
A big party at home is coming up
No question, in fact, of giving up: "Until the end, we hope to win and so we are not going to Rouen in socks, smiles Jean-Michel Vidal, the chairman of the ASBH board of directors. Players want to finish as high as possible on the leaderboard. They will play hard every match. Knowing that we are not the only ones in this situation. It's the same for Vannes, with whom we are tied on points, and with Provence rugby which is one point behind."
The president does not hide his hope, in the long term, of a big party at home: "If we finish in the first two, we will go directly to the semi-finals -home final." By finishing 3rd or 4th, the Biterrois would also play at home but against the 5th or 6th to reach a semi-final.
Ambition and humility
The fact remains that to put pressure on Rouen, we will have to fight hard. The Normans announced that they wanted to save their skin at all costs. They won't give up an ounce of land. Especially in front of their audience… The people of Biter know this very well. And in the staff, we did everything so that they could take up the challenge: "We are going there with ambition but also a lot of humility, assures Benjamin Bagate, the sports director of the ASBH. Each match lost by Rouen leads it to the Nationale. We will therefore come across a team that will wage war on us. We will have to put a lot of intensity into this part and find some aggressiveness in defense."
D’as much as Béziers has left a lot of points on the way during its last outings: 45 in Vannes, 57 in Dax, 31 against Biarritz : "We must remain conquerors in attack but defend much better, insists Benjamin Bagate. We also need to secure our camp outings."
There is no question of not producing games either. Which is Béziers' strength in recent months. Now all that remains is to play fair and without excess.
