Prom dresses, suits and chic afternoon to celebrate

Robes de bal, complets chics et après-midi pour célébrer

The pandemic has put an abrupt end to the school year, many students in Quebec and many former students of 5th high school were saddened to be deprived of their prom. The petition was launched by Florence Farrier and three of his friends have borne fruit since.

In a month, nearly 19 000 students have signed “A single day is it too much to ask?” and the secondary school of Florence Farrier in the Mauricie region has decided to grant to the graduates a moment to say farewell and celebrate.

“It is an afternoon get out your prom dresses and your clothes fancy. We will celebrate it all together on the grounds of the school, observing the social distancing of course,” says Florence Farrier.

The girl recognizes that the authorities had other priorities than proms in the midst of a pandemic, but that the event is important for all teenagers of Quebec. “It is very important for us, a step to live the life that we lack and that is significant.”

Since Florence Farrier, Jonathan Boivin, Malory Lacroix and Benjamin Allard launched their petition “A single day is it too much to ask?”, the signatures are being added.
