The pre-10 editione Québec ville en rose’s “special COVID-19” anniversary, the annual fundraising campaign of the Center for Breast Diseases (CMS), presented by Quebecor, was successful despite the pandemic, by raising $ 141,250. These funds will contribute to the acquisition of equipment used on a daily basis by the CMS teams, will have an impact in the humanization of care and will allow the advancement of clinical research.
“The Foundation’s team has worked hard to provide itself with the means to pursue its mission with this precious center. We have redesigned the edition in order to be able to maintain it, despite the pandemic, because the needs are great and very real. Cancer doesn’t take a break, ”says Marie-Claude Paré, President and CEO of the CHU de Québec Foundation.
Through the digital fundraising campaign of some forty light carriers, the pink illumination of many buildings in the Quebec City region and the very first interactive auction for the general public, the Foundation particularly highlighted the remarkable work of health professionals working at CMS.
“The Foundation killed two birds with one stone: it put a face to the human care provided here, in Quebec City, and saluted all these people who, every day, give the best of themselves for the good. be CMS patients. In these difficult times, our team is in great need of encouragement and this campaign was timely! ”Said Dr.Christine Desbiens, medical director of the Breast Disease Center.
