Quebec will inject $ 90 million to improve services to young people in difficulty and their families, announced the deputy minister of Health and social Services, Lionel Carmant.
The purpose of these investments is to consolidate the teams of services of the protection of the youth and to continue the improvement of support provided to stakeholders, as well as to host families.
“Our government is giving the resources to the network of health and social services to act on several fronts to improve the quality and access to services for troubled youth and their families,” said minister by way of a press release.
The money will be distributed in the different regions of the province. Note that more than $ 19 million will be awarded to Montréal, more than $ 12 million in the Montérégie region and more than $ 6 million in the Laurentians.
They are also more than $ 5 million that will be allocated to the CIUSSS of the eastern Townships-CHUS where a girl martyrdom of 7 years has died of abuse she would have lived.
Investments of $ 18 million to consolidate the teams and offer them a better support and $ 47 million to hire some 400 stakeholders to reduce waiting lists had already been announced in 2019.
