The former president of the national Assembly, François Gendron, supports the candidacy of the deputy pq Sylvain Gaudreault, in the race for the leadership of the training policy.
This was announced by the member for Jonquière, on Tuesday, by way of a press release.
“I am proud to be able to count on the support of François Gendron, a man whose contribution in Quebec is invaluable, writes Sylvain Gaudreault. This support reflects my commitment to all the regions of Quebec and of my desire to make Quebec a country where the regions to take their development in hand.”
For his part, François Gendron says: “Sylvain is able to rekindle the flame of independence. Now, he wants to bring quebec society farther with the modernity of its ideas, notably on the environment and the fight against the climate crisis”.
Elected as member of the Parti québécois in Abitibi-Ouest for the first time in 1976, François Gendron was re-elected for the political independence in 1981, 1985, 1989, 1994, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2014.
During this term, one of the longest in quebec politics, he has held the post of minister of the public Service, of State for Planning, Education, natural Resources, Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and of parliamentary leader of the opposition.
